Magellan’s popular GPS cycling computers, the Cyclo 315 and Cyclo 505, are now available in North America. Launched in Europe and Australia last year, these devices are designed with both serious and hobby cyclists in mind. The Cyclo 315 and 505 can provide route options, sensor support and is compatible with more than 130 ANT+ sensors for monitoring heart rate, speed, cadence and more. They also support wireless Shimano Di2 ANT. With a 3″ screen, this Cyclo line has the largest touch screens in the GPS cycling computer category and the interface is simple and easy to navigate and read at a glance. These devices also provide a highly detailed road network with cycling POI’s and turn-by-turn navigation, as well as the popular Open Street Map bike network for both the U.S. and Canada. read more
New GPS tracker Monitors Loved Ones with No Monthly Fee
Update: Findster has reached its goal on Indiegogo, and will be shipping early next year.
The innovative GPS tracker, Findster, helps caregivers monitor children and pets wirelessly on their smartphone with no monthly fees. Funding on Indiegogo is currently underway, and Findster seems well worth the effort. Unlike some GPS trackers, Findster does not require any type of monthly fee and offers many useful functions such as fall detection for children or loved ones, an activity tracker for pets and the ability to set routes or perimeters and receive updates and push notifications if the device leaves the designated area or route in addition to GPS tracking. The device is monitored through the Findster app, which can be downloaded on your smartphone or tablet.

Tinitell new GPS for kids
Having 4 kids I find their safety is very important, especially in places like sporting events, theme parks, etc. Currently, I just write my phone number on their shoulder and teach them to go to a police officer or security officer if they get lost. But Tinitell is having a kickstarter campaign for a GPS for kids that is like a watch they wear. You can even call it and talk to your child, it has an option where they can call people as well (although at my kids’ age I would turn that off), then with an app you can track them at anytime.
Hello GPS Tracklog Readers
If you haven’t had the chance go take a look at Rich’s post from earlier today about changes. I wanted to take a few minutes and introduce myself, and get a chance to get some feedback from everyone.
Changes
It is with mixed emotions that after nearly nine years at the helm of this site, I am turning it over to someone else. Leaving the GPS Tracklog community is the hardest part; you have been incredible — supportive, inquisitive and always thirsting for more knowledge on all things GPS. For the past couple of years, other matters have kept me from giving the site as much attention as I wanted. But I am happy to say that I am leaving it in the capable hands of Matt Cook, who plans to keep things rolling along, bringing you the latest from the world of GPS. read more
