The Garmin nüvi 2300LM is a lower-level model in Garmin’s 2300 series, bringing some of the best features from the 3700 series, minus the exorbitant price tag, including the ability to learn your preferred routes.

Garmin nuvi 2450
The Garmin nüvi 2450 is one of Garmin’s recently released 5” ultra-widescreen navigators comprising the nuvi 24xx line. In addition to the big screen, these navigators bring many other high-end features at a relatively reasonable price, including several not found on the nuvi 37xx series, such as custom route avoidances.
Garmin dezl 560LMT review
Hands on trucker review of the Garmin dezl 560LMT
UPDATE: A new 7″ model is available, the Garmin dezl 760LMT.
The Garmin dezl 560LMT is a new top of the line navigator designed for commercial truckers (though it is likely to be quite popular with RVers as well). It has an ultra-wide 5” screen, preloaded maps of the US, Canada and Mexico, and comes with lifetime map updates and traffic.
Garmin gets Exit Services
Garmin just keeps rolling out new features. I’m currently testing the trucker-friendly Garmin dezl 560LMT and came across what Garmin is calling Exit Services, similar to Magellan’s Exit POIs – a very useful feature indeed. Basically, it displays points of interest (POIs) for the next 10 exits or so, when travelling on limited access highways. I’ll be surprised if this feature doesn’t show up in the next generation of nuvis.
Android PNDs coming?
DigiTimes has a brief article up today, citing several GPS navigator (PND) trends for 2011. Among them…
While most PNDs are based on Linux or Windows CE, some vendors are developing Android models to minimize R&D costs, and to leverage the availability of Android-based applications and connectivity with tablet PCs, handsets and other hand-held devices, the sources analyzed.
Magellan RoadMate 9055 review
Hands on with the 7” Magellan RoadMate 9055
The Magellan RoadMate 9055 is one of several models offered by Magellan with a gigantic 7” screen, making it a good option for truckers and RVs. It comes with preloaded maps of the US and Canada, Bluetooth for hands free calling and lifetime traffic.
Garmin rolls out driving recorder in nuvi 2575R
Thanks to the FCC, we’ve got a sneak peek at the Garmin nuvi 2575R, a forthcoming model that offers a driving recorder, so you can capture the crash on film when you’re watching the big game. Which you can do because the 2575/2575R includes a TV receiver! And of course that means that this device is probably not heading to the US market, especially since the manual says it’s an analog TV receiver and they spell it “analogue.”
Garmin nuvi 2400 series hits the market

UPDATE: In addition to my hands on review of the nuvi 2460LT, I’ve now posted pages for the Garmin nuvi 2450, nuvi 2450LM, and the nuvi 2460LMT.
The 5” Garmin nuvi 24xx series has hit the market, and I suspect they are going to be quite popular. I was certainly very impressed with the nuvi 2460LT I recently reviewed. The custom avoidances and advanced detour features are welcome additions, and I expect many folks will consider the 24xx models the top of the line, since they seem to focus on function while the 37xx is more about style. Here’s where you can grab one:
